How to Set Up 2FA to Protect Your Digital Wallet from Fraud

Two-Factor Authentication (2FA), often called 2-step verification, is the single best defense against hackers, phishing, and account takeover attempts. By using a separate Authenticator App, you ensure that even if a criminal knows your password, they cannot access your digital wallet.

Follow this simple guide to set up 2FA on your Yousend account for maximum security:

Step 1: Navigate to Security Settings

  1. Go to Profile: Log into the Yousend app and tap your profile icon (or initials) to access the main menu.
  2. Access Account: Tap “Account information”.
  3. Find Security: Tap “Privacy and security” to access your security options.

Step 2: Initiate 2-Step Verification

  1. Select 2FA: On the “Privacy and security” screen, tap “2-step verification” (labeled as “Extra protection to boost account security”).
  2. Start Pairing: The app will prompt you with the message: “Pair your authenticator app” and lists recommended apps (Google Authenticator, Microsoft Authenticator, Authy, etc.).
  3. Proceed: Tap “Enable 2FA” at the bottom of the screen.

Step 3: Pair Your Authenticator App

This is the secure step where you link the Yousend account to your third-party Authenticator App:

  1. Open Authenticator App: Minimize Yousend and open your preferred Authenticator App (Google/Microsoft Authenticator, etc.) that you have already downloaded.
  2. Add Account: Within the Authenticator App, select the option to “Add new account” or “Scan QR code.”
  3. Scan/Manual Entry: You will be prompted to either scan a QR code (which Yousend displays) or manually enter a setup key.
  4. Wait for Code: The Authenticator App will generate a rotating 6-digit code for Yousend.

Step 4: Final Verification and Completion

  1. Enter Code: Return to the Yousend app, and on the “Enter verification code” screen, input the 6-digit Yousend code shown in your Authenticator App.
  2. Confirmation: The app will verify the code and display a success message: “Authenticator app paired successfully.” The note confirms: “You will need to enter your authenticator code next time you log in.”
  3. Done: Tap “Done” to complete the setup.

Your Yousend digital wallet is now protected by the strongest form of Two-Factor Authentication, ensuring only you can access your funds!
